The National Hurricane Center is watching three areas in the tropics this Wednesday afternoon. The first is the tropical wave that is moving toward the Windward Islands today. This has shown some signs of organization today and a hurricane hunter aircraft may be sent to check out the area today.The second area of interest is low pressure moving northeast away from the U.S. coastline. This system is moving toward cooler ocean waters, so tropical development is not expected.
The third area outlined is a disturbance that has developed in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The NHC says slow development of this area is possible over the next day or so.
